Iranian newspaper tied to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei recently boasted that the
U.S. has “rejected” Israel over the past three months. This belief could have
disastrous consequences. The author writes that the only “obstacle” remaining

Iranian regime believes what it says and can achieve its stated objectives.
That's the blunt truth that few can accept. To determine Iran's strategy, we
must determine its goals and ideology. President Ahmadinejad consistently
states that he acts in order to "hasten the arrival" of the Mahdi,
also called the Hidden Imam, who is to appear during the End Times to bring

West.” Shakir is a co-founder of Zaytuna College, America’s first Islamic

and the Muslim Students Association. He even was invited to President Obama’s

Candidates Take Lead in Egyptian Presidential Race
Egyptians
will go into voting booths May 23-24 to choose their next president, a critical
moment in the struggle between secularists and Islamists for the future of
Egypt. If no single candidate gets a majority of the vote, as will probably be
the case, the top two vote-getters will compete in a final contest on June
16-17. The latest polls show secular candidates taking the lead ahead of the
