Will Pope Francis Become a Dupe of the Islamists?

The Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Azhar University want to shake hands with the new Pope Francis. One of the first pledges he has made is to embrace interfaith dialogue with the Muslim world. Will he become the latest dupe of the "moderate" Islamists? [more...]

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood Sets Up Militia to Enforce Rule

Protests against the Muslim Brotherhood continue to rock Egypt without a word being said from the White House. Now, the Brotherhood and allied Islamists are taking a cue from their Shiite counterparts in Tehran and have announced they are setting up a civilian force with the power to arrest those they deem to be criminals. The Muslim Brotherhood first hinted at setting up a militia on December 16 when Vice Chairman Essam Erian of its Freedom and Justice Party said it needed defenses in the wake of clashes. [more...]

New Syrian Rebel PM: More Ties to U.S. Brotherhood Network Emerge

Yesterday, RadicalIslam.org reported how the newly elected interim Prime Minister of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Ghassan Hitto, was backed by the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood and was a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) official, a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity. More disturbing information has since come out about Hitto’s role in the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood network. [more...]

Crowning Erdogan as the New King of Islamists

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s apology to Turkey for the deaths of its citizens during the 2010 flotilla raid misses the point. The tension with Turkey was never really about the operation. It was about making Israel bow to Turkey, crowning Prime Minister Erdogan as the new king of the Islamists. [more...]

The Obama Administration’s Disgraceful Muslim Brotherhood Policy

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s Islamist Muslim Brotherhood-dominated government, which has the support of the Obama administration, has just issued arrest warrants for five activists on false charges that they allegedly used social media to incite violence against the Muslim Brotherhood. These activists include a blogger who played a key role in the 2011 revolution that toppled President Hosni Mubarak.

At the same time, sexual assaults against women have skyrocketed during the Morsi regime’s rule. And the Islamists who have been elevated into power blame the women for the violence against them. For example, an Islamist police general and lawmaker was quoted by the New York Times as proclaiming that “a girl contributes 100 percent to her own raping when she puts herself in these conditions.” The Muslim Brotherhood also issued a statement against the UN Convention on Elimination of Violence Against Women and called the final outcome document adopted earlier this month non-Islamic.

And yet we get deafening silence from the Obama administration. Instead, the Obama administration forges ahead with its plans to provide F-16 fighters, Abrams tanks and over a billion dollars of financial aid to Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood-dominated government despite his crackdown on dissidents and the deteriorating plight of women in Egypt. New Syrian Rebel Leader Was CAIR Official

The Syrian Opposition Coalition has elected an interim prime minister under U.S. pressure. And it chose a former representative of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Texas named Ghassan Hitto, disappointing secularists who “withdrew before the vote to protest what they described as a hasty foreign-backed push to appoint Hitto.” [more...]

On Monday, President Obama prepared for his trip to the Middle East by meeting with around 10 Muslim and Arab officials that provided him with "recommendations." The meeting came four days after his meeting with Jewish leaders. [more...]

Christie Continues Engagement with Hamas-Linked Mosque

Last month, N.J. Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa attended the Friday services of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, continuing the Christie Administration’s engagement with the Hamas-linked mosque and its imam, Mohammad Qatanani. Immigration officials have sought unsuccessfully to tie Mohammad Qatanani to Palestinian terrorist groups and he is supported by Christie and N.J. law enforcement. Actually, the Department of Homeland Security is still seeking his deportation because of the extensive evidence linking him to Hamas. [more...]

The Man Shaping Obama’s Strategy on Israel

The New York Times published a front page story on Saturday, March 16th lauding Benjamin J. Rhodes, President Obama's "35-year old deputy national security adviser with a soft voice, strong opinions and a reputation around the White House as the man who channels Mr. Obama on foreign policy." Rhodes successfully led the charge to persuade Obama to throw Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak under the bus and to intervene militarily in Libya to help topple Muammar el-Qadaffi. Now Rhodes is shaping President Obama's public charm offensive that will be on display during his visit to Israel, the West Bank and Jordan this week. [more...]
