Brigitte Gabriel: Mobilizing Americans from Times Square to the Grassroots

Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud, who was thought to be killed by America, has released a videotape after the attempted car bombing in New York City, vowing to attack major US cities. He stated: "The time is very near when our fedayeen (suicide bombers) will attack the American states in the major cities."

"Homegrown terrorism is reaching an all time high. Over 55 Americans have been arrested in the last twelve months alone, all Muslims, trying to kill Americans," said Brigitte Gabriel, President of ACT for America, the largest national security grassroots organization in America with 80,000 members and 380 chapters nationwide.

"We are mobilizing Americans to be the eyes and ears of freedom and security in their community. We just launched Veteran Defenders of America, mobilizing vets throughout the country to work together, and with first responders and law enforcement, to prevent a terrorist attack just like what happened in New York," says Brigitte Gabriel.

"Veterans have training, skills and experience that uniquely enable them to respond to our government's message that encourages family and community preparedness and citizen awareness. From detecting suspicious activity prior to a crisis - just like what happened in Time Square - to helping with emergency management should a crisis occur, America's veterans are being actively mobilized nationwide.
