Secretary
of State John Kerry - who was heard last Sunday on an open mike between Sunday
TV appearances disparaging Israel’s efforts to limit civilian casualties in
Gaza - arrived in Cairo on July 21st to frantically cobble together an
immediate ceasefire. Seeking the help of Egypt and the United Nations, and
even the Hamas-friendly countries of Turkey and Qatar, Kerry is looking for
some kind of consensus by the major players in the region for a peace-at-any
price formula. He is insisting on a premature ceasefire before Israel is able
to find and destroy all the tunnels built under Palestinian civilians’ homes,
schools and hospitals, which Hamas is using to hide its weapons and as bases
from which to sneak its jihadists into Israel for the purpose of abducting or
killing its citizens. [more...]

Palestinian unity government, via its co-equal partner Hamas, is committing war
crimes and crimes against humanity against Israeli civilians. Hamas has
launched scores of rockets from Gaza aimed at major Israeli cities covering
more than half of Israel, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and
Caesarea. The attacks have escalated from 6 on June 27th to more than
160 on July 8th. This is Hamas's version of the Nazi-style air blitz, meant to
terrorize the Israeli population into submission. Imitating Nazi tactics
is a logical extension of the great esteem which Hamas leaders and their
Palestinian forebears have held for Adolf Hitler. [more...]
The
search for the three abducted Israeli teenagers, Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar, and
Naftali Frenkel (who held Israeli and American citizenship), ended on June 30th
with the grisly discovery of their bodies in a shallow grave near the West Bank
city of Hebron. They were found by civilian volunteers from an Israeli field
school in the area, who alerted Israeli security forces. The boys appeared to
have been shot, perhaps shortly after the abrupt ending of a cell phone call
from one of the teens in which he said, "I was kidnapped." Cartridges
of bullets were found in the burnt out vehicle that was determined to be the
car carrying the kidnapped teens. [more...]
