A North Korean Nuclear Winter

The latest North Korean blast was, by one estimate, up to 10 times bigger than the atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima. Worse, this weapon may have been not only an atomic fission device but also a hydrogen-fusion explosive, an H-bomb small enough to be carried by an intercontinental ballistic missile. A nuclear blast would emit an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that could fry our computer chips, blind military offensive and defensive systems, erase our banking records and economy, and return us to being a near-Stone Age country in a heartbeat. Can a Military Confrontation with North Korea be Avoided?

Can a Military Confrontation with North Korea be Avoided?

It appears that the president will pressure the Chinese and Russians to reduce the current threat to the U. S. If it appears America is in imminent danger, an American surprise attack might be deemed absolutely essential to prevent a nuclear bomb from being dropped on a U. S. city. Trump has promised the threat “will be handled.” Gen. Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy, U. S. Pacific Air Forces commander, has been quoted in the press as saying: “If called upon, we are ready to respond with rapid, lethal, and overwhelming force at a time and place of our choosing.” Apparently, if diplomacy fails, military plans are available and are being developed further. North Korean’s Relationship with Iran

There is one facet of the North Korean problem that has hardly received any mention. That is reports of North Korea’s continuing collaborative relationship with Iran, enabling both countries’ nuclear programs to advance. According to two Israeli experts whom have studied the matter, “Iran is circumventing the restrictions on its nuclear program under the nuclear agreement with the P5+1 countries by collaborating with North Korea on missile development and modifying missiles for nuclear weapons.” They believe that a “strategic, military-technological collaboration” between the two countries is likely underway right now. With one rogue nuclear armed state that has already been threatening nuclear war working with a wannabe nuclear armed state that is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, the risk to U.S. and international security is multiplied exponentially unless steps can be taken to stop the collaboration in its tracks. Vetoes Sink Latest UN Security Council Resolution on Syrian Chemical Weapons

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), which was established in August 2015 under a unanimously approved Security Council resolution, was assigned the responsibility to determine who was responsible for a series of chemical attacks since 2013 that killed Syrian civilians. The independent expert panel concluded that there was sufficient evidence to determine that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons on three separate occasions from 2014 to 2015, while ISIS had used them at least once. With that conclusion in hand, the United States, United Kingdom and France introduced a draft resolution on February 28th imposing sanctions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter on Syrian government officials and entities linked to the chemical weapons attacks; placing an embargo on arms sales and chemicals intended to be used as weapons; and establishing a sanctions committee and panel of experts to monitor the implementation of these measures. Russia and China vetoed the draft resolution, which blocked its adoption. Bolivia also voted no. Nine Security Council members voted yes, and three abstained. [more...]

How the Obama Administration Has Emboldened the Palestinian Death Cult

Thanks to the anti-Israel United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which the Obama administration shamefully permitted to pass without a veto, the Palestinians have now been given the cover of so-called international law to justify their actions. In their twisted minds, since the UN resolution claimed the establishment of settlements by Israel, including in east Jerusalem, has "no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law," the Palestinians should have the “right” to kill any Israeli residents and soldiers who are present where they do not belong. That is not terrorism, according to this perverted logic. It is “heroic” resistance against an international law breaker. And calling for such resistance is not the incitement to commit acts of terror that the resolution condemned in general terms. [more...]

Obama’s Syria Catastrophe

How a cascading series of blunders by the Obama administration helped lead to the present humanitarian crisis.

The humanitarian situation in Syria worsens day by day. The Assad regime and Russia are carrying out intense lethal bombings over the rebel-held eastern Aleppo, where about 250,000 people are effectively trapped under siege by Syrian military forces. They claim they are targeting terrorists, not civilians. The United States and its allies retort that the savage aerial bombing campaign against civilian targets such as hospitals and shelters has nothing to do with counter-terrorism. The United Nations Security Council has met numerous times to address the tragedy, to no avail. This past weekend’s emergency session of the Security Council was no exception. [more...]

Only Islam Can Save Us from Islam

At Rutgers, Obama claimed that restricting Muslim immigration “would alienate the very communities at home and abroad who are our most important partners in the fight against violent extremism.” If we alienate Muslims, who is going to help us fight Muslim terrorism? You can see why Obama doesn’t mention Islamic terrorism in any way, shape or form. Once you drop the “I” word, then the argument is that you need Islam to fight Islam... and Muslims to fight Muslims. [more...]

UN Passes Toughly Worded Piece of Paper Against North Korea

By Joseph Klein

The United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on March 2nd that imposes tough new sanctions and tightens some of its existing measures against North Korea (the DPRK). Resolution 2270 (2016) is the Security Council’s strongest response to date to the rogue North Korean regime’s ongoing nuclear and ballistic missile-related test activities in violation of a series of prior Security Council resolutions. The triggering events leading up to this latest resolution were North Korea’s January 2016 nuclear test and February rocket launch. These provocations were too much even for China, North Korea’s closest trading partner, which cooperated constructively with the United States to reach consensus on the resolution’s text after several weeks of negotiations. Iranian Elections - The “Reformers” Didn’t Win

By Joseph Klein

Iran held an election last week to fill seats in its clerical body known as the Assembly of Experts, which would select Ayatollah Khamenei’s successor as Supreme Leader, as well as seats in Iran’s parliament.  Focusing on victories over hardliners in the capital city of Tehran, the results are being hailed in the Iranian “reformist” circles as "Tehran's Spring."  So-called “reformists and moderates” who support President Hassan Rouhani and strategized together to defeat the hardliners, are crowing. And as the BBC reported, President Rouhani has sought to portray the results as a mandate to continue his policies of trying to reduce Iran’s international isolation. "It's time to open a new chapter in Iran's economic development based on domestic abilities and international opportunities," he said last Saturday. [more...]

The San Bernardino Terrorists Weren’t Radicals, They Were Mainstream

By Daniel Greenfield

After Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook killed 14 Americans in their corner of the Jihad over in San Bernardino, the media began its long laborious search for their moment of “radicalization.” The assumption that the intersection of terrorism and Islam can only be an aberration led to the conviction that there was some moment in time at which Malik and Farook became “radical extremists.” Initial reports pegged that moment of “radicalization” as having happened at some point during the twenty minutes after Farook left the party. When the amount of firepower and preparation made the idea of a twenty-minute radicalization massacre seem silly, the media tried to stretch it back for weeks. Now they’ve had to give in and pull back that dreadful moment of radicalization for years. [more...]

Hillary's Libyan Lies

Hillary Clinton has only one accomplishment - the Libyan War. Bombing Libya in support of a Muslim Brotherhood takeover was Hillary’s pet project. Obama unenthusiastically signed off on a war that he had told members of Congress "is all Secretary Clinton's matter." The Pentagon fought Hillary’s illegal war every step of the way. Both the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs opposed Hillary’s plan to bomb Libya. One of the Chairman's top aides said that he did not trust the reports coming out of the State Department and the CIA, then controlled by Clinton loyalist Leon Panetta. When it was clear that the Clintonites had gotten their war on, an irritated Secretary of Defense Gates resigned after failing to stop Hillary's war and was replaced by Panetta. [more...]

Netanyahu on Palestinian Muslims as Willing Jew Executioners

During a speech on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appropriately decried the "apologetics" which have minimized the role played by ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin el-Husseini, founder of the modern Palestinian Muslim movement, in fomenting genocidal Islamic Jew hatred. Netanyahu made these simple, irrefragable points, demonstrating how from the 1920s through the World War II era, the father of the Palestinians at that time, with no [Jewish] state and no so-called "occupation," no territories and no settlements, already sought, through systematic incitement, to annihilate the Jews. Regrettably, Hajj Amin el-Husseini is still a venerated figure in Palestinian society; he appears in study books and is exalted as the father of the nation, and this incitement that began then, incitement to kill Jews, continues. Proof our Southern Border is Under Attack by Muslim Extremists

America is in deep trouble. Your families are in grave danger... imminent danger. I have breaking news that has been shared by a border agent with only me. The question is: Why isn’t your government sharing this threat with the American people? And why aren’t major mainstream news organizations reporting on it; why is there a media blackout? The breaking news that I’m talking about is the grave imminent danger of radical Muslim terrorists crossing our open border with Mexico to attack our homeland. I've warned this was likely happening in hundreds of media interviews, speeches and columns for over a year now. My prediction is no longer a fear... it is now a fact. [more...]

Obama Loses Another War that He "Ended"

A day after the Taliban had overrun the city of Kunduz, Obama told the UN that "Ideologies are not defeated with guns, they're defeated by better ideas." The better idea that the Taliban had was fighting a war with guns, while Obama was still searching through his hashtags for a better idea than a bullet. Instead of convening a summit on "countering violent extremism," the Taliban retook the last of their cities to fall to the United States. In a single day in September, the Taliban had captured a city of a few hundred thousand people. Tajikistan saw the fall of Kunduz coming months ago, but Obama’s vaunted intel operation was too busy cooking the books to make it seem as if he was winning in Iraq to waste time lying about another war. In March, Obama was crediting himself with having shifted the momentum against the Taliban. Now the Taliban have shown him which way the momentum had really shifted. [more...]

Obama's Foreign Policy of Fantasies

Obama continued his feckless foreign policy charade at the UN on September 29th. He chaired what was billed as "The Leaders' Summit on Countering ISIL and Violent Extremism," and he met with Cuban President Raul Castro. At the summit, Obama claimed major progress in rolling back the Islamic State (or ISIL, as he refers to the jihadist caliphate occupying large portions of Syria and Iraq). By now, the president is certainly aware of the reported complaint, backed by 52 defense analysts, to the Pentagon’s inspector general, which alleged that intelligence reports on the war against the Islamic State were doctored in order to support the Obama administration’s claims that the fighting was going well.

Some of these doctored reports were reportedly used to brief the president and other high government officials, telling them what they wanted to hear. The defense analysts, who are career professionals, have painted a far more pessimistic picture of the fight so far than the Obama administration wants the public to believe. Nevertheless, while Obama acknowledged at the summit that the Islamic State fighters are "resilient" and that there will be some setbacks along with successes, he continued the false narrative that the Islamic State is in retreat. The fact is that Russian President Vladimir Putin is taking advantage of Obama’s lack of leadership in the fight against ISIL.  Putin is taking the lead himself, providing direct military support to the Syrian regime and building his own coalition including Iraq and Iran. Hillary Clinton’s 'Tough Foreign Policy' Scam

Only Hillary can make Hillary’s discredited policies work again.

By Daniel Greenfield

The phrase "Only a Clinton" entered our lexicon in the '90s. Ever since then, the unsinkable Clintons have continued spewing outrageous lies and ridiculous ploys that only a Clinton could get away with. Hillary Clinton tried campaigning for the White House without actually taking positions on anything. Iran was a particularly touchy subject because the Democratic Party has two constituencies that are sharply divided on the issue. Jewish voters oppose the deal while left-wing voters back it.

Hillary Clinton couldn’t pander to both at the same time. Or could she? Hillary Clinton endorsed the deal while in true “Only a Clinton” style running against it. She endorsed the deal using militant rhetoric that threatened Iran with war. Her message is that she endorses a deal that gives Iran near zero breakout time to the bomb and lets it self-inspect and fund terrorists, but that she'll be the toughest terror deal supporter you ever saw. No one will be tougher on that deal than her.  ...Only a Clinton. [more...]

Iran is Already Violating the Nuke Deal

As the congressional vote on President Barack Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal with Iran draws closer, the Iranian regime appears to be doing everything it can to show that it has the upper hand as a result of the deal it negotiated with the United States and its five partners. It is either dishonestly twisting certain terms of the deal to justify its misbehavior or simply defying the terms outright. President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are not pushing back. Instead, they are pushing hard to avoid a veto-proof congressional vote of disapproval.

For example, Iran is planning to sign a contract for four advanced Russian surface-to-air S-300 missiles as early as next week, following a visit to Moscow by Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani in violation of an international travel ban.  There have been whimpers of objection from the Obama administration, but no forceful statement that such activities by the Iranian regime will jeopardize the agreement from the get-go. [more...]

Obama Defends Iran Deal with Falsehoods and Slurs

Remember President Obama's outright lies as he was selling Obamacare? He is now lying on an even larger scale as he tries to sell his fatally flawed nuclear deal with Iran to a skeptical Congress, and to the American people, who currently oppose the deal by a large margin. In an address that Obama delivered yesterday at American University, Obama deliberately misrepresented the terms of his deal and slurred those who dare to question it. In a highly offensive and partisan tone, he accused the Republican caucus of being in "common cause" with Iran's hardliners opposed to the deal, ignoring the serious reservations to the deal among many in his own party and the American public at large. Obama's Iran Nuke Deal Lies

As is so often the case, President Obama is misleading the American people. The fact is there will be no 24/7 "anywhere, anytime" inspections allowed of undeclared suspicious sites. The fine print of the final JCPOA agreement provides Iran with the means to delay any inspections of undeclared suspected sites requested by the IAEA. Iran is empowered to raise objections to inspections of suspected sites, which would then have to be assessed by a commission that includes Iran itself as a member. Iran will thus have opportunities to exploit the mechanisms for international verification inspections, allowing it to rotate its covert nuclear arms activities from secret site to secret site during a protracted dispute resolution process... [more...]

Ten Reasons the Iran Deal is bad for America

Six global powers and Iran have made an agreement dealing with Iran's nuclear future and sanctions.  Without question, the deal places America, Israel, the Middle East, and the entire world at grave risk.  There is no need for America to go out on a limb and take this enormous risk.  This is simply a bad deal for America, quite possibly the most dangerous agreement America has made in its 239 years of history.  Let's list just 10 reasons why the Iran deal is bad for America now... [Go here for a complete analysis...]
