Beneath the Burqa - a Bruised and Badly Beaten Teenager

A reader sent me a story Monday from The New Zealand Herald about a teenage girl who was badly and repeatedly beaten at home and who was then forced to disguise her considerable facial injuries, including a broken nose, damaged teeth, and extensive bruising.  I am no fan of the burqa and have even argued that the West should ban it.

Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, views the burqa as a security risk - and he is right to do so. Both petty criminals and jihadist terrorists have entered jewelry stores, banks, shopping malls, airports, and railway stations to commit evil deeds and to escape capture in this disguise.

So, yes, Pipes is right - but I also see the burqa as a sensory deprivation isolation chamber, (sensory deprivation is used as a form of torture); a burqa is also an ambulatory body bag and I oppose this with all my mind and heart as a violation of human and women’s rights. [more... ]

Netanyahu’s Warning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned repeatedly how a bad deal with Iran over its nuclear program can have catastrophic consequences for international peace and security. Unless and until Iran is verifiably stripped entirely of its nuclear enrichment capabilities, he believes, the sanctions in place must continue in full force. Prime Minister Netanyahu understands the peril in allowing Iran to get a nuclear weapon. Weakness will only abet the crocodile’s appetite. "I would go so far as to say that a bad deal could lead to the second, undesired option," Netanyahu said this week. He was evidently alluding to the military option that may be the only means left to stop Iran in time if bad diplomacy leaves Iran a clear path to achieving its nuclear arms objective. [more...]

Rouhani's Deceptive Negotiations: We've Seen This Play's Rehearsal

By striking a nuclear deal with the U.S., the Iran's so-called "moderate" President Rouhani is hoping to take one step back so he can take two steps forward. When he was the nuclear negotiator, he bragged about how he skillfully and deceptively manipulated the West so the program could advance. We've already seen the rehearsal for this play. [more...]

Islamist Super-Bloc Begins Forming in the Middle East

A monumental strategic shift is taking place in the Middle East as an Islamist super-bloc is forming. Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood are making up with Iran and Hezbollah. Egypt and the Gulf states are forming their own alliance. The U.S. outreach to Iran and the Brotherhood has left it missing from the equation. [more...]

Egyptian Paper Names 30 Brotherhood Operatives in U.S.

One of Egypt’s most widely-read newspapers El-Watan has published a list of 30 alleged Muslim Brotherhood fronts and operatives in the U.S. that were tasked with winning public support for the Islamist group. Citing unnamed "informed sources," journalist Ahmed al-Tahiri says the Muslim Brotherhood has a “lobby inside America.” Raymond Ibrahim translated the article verbatim. It opens by describing the goal of the political influence operation: [more...]

Federal Agency Funds Student Outreach by Brotherhood Entity

The National Endowment for the Humanities says it "strengthens our republic by promoting excellence in the humanities." Apparently, the federal agency believes that funding student outreach by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, fits this description. On October 24, IIIT held an outreach event at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA with the school's Muslim Students Association, another group founded by the Muslim Brotherhood. [more...]

Israel and the UN Human Rights Council Circus

Israel decided to end its year and a half boycott of the three-ring circus known as the United Nations Human Rights Council. Responding to significant diplomatic pressure from the United States and Germany, Israel sent representatives to a Council session on October 29th to participate in a review of Israel's human rights record. The review was conducted in accordance with a process known as the Universal Periodic Review, in which each of the 193 member states of the United Nations has its human rights record assessed by the Council approximately every four years. Israel submitted a detailed 78-page report as part of this process, describing specific actions Israel has taken to fulfill its human rights obligations and responding to a number of recommendations by other member states. Senior Homeland Security Advisor: America is an "Islamic Country"

A senior advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, Mohamed Elibiary, says that America is "an Islamic country" and continues to argue that the Muslim Brotherhood is comparable to Christian evangelicals.  Elibiary is a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council and was promoted in September. He also served on the Department of Homeland Security's Countering Violent Extremism Working Group and the Faith-based Security and Communications Advisory Committee.  He is also a long-time Texas Republican Party official and was a delegate for Senator John McCain in 2008. On October 31, Elibiary tweeted that he believes the U.S. “is an Islamic country." [Go here to see the screen shot...]

Dawn of Nuclear Iran is Nightmare for U.S.

HALLOWEEN HORROR: YOUR MONEY AND YOUR LIFE

DAWN OF NUCLEAR IRAN IS NIGHTMARE FOR U.S., SAY EXPERTS

“IRAN NUCLEAR TERRORISM WOULD DESTROY AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT.”

Days before Halloween, the Institute for Science & International Security warned that Iran could produce enough enriched uranium to quickly make an atom bomb within the next 4 to 6 weeks – perhaps as soon as this Thanksgiving or Christmas.

“If Iran used terrorists as a 'delivery system' for such a weapon, it could destroy New York City or Houston or Washington, D.C., and this could crash the fragile U.S. and global economy,” says Craig R. Smith, a monetary expert frequently interviewed by Fox's Neil Cavuto and other prominent business journalists.

“Such an act of nuclear terrorism could potentially kill millions. It would put the world's major cities at risk and force drastic measures. It would also halt the flow of Persian Gulf oil, terrify investors, and plunge us into nationwide and worldwide Depression,” says Smith, whose recent book “The Great Debasement” laid out a chilling detailed scenario for the use of nuclear weapons in the Persian Gulf.

Smith and co-author Lowell Ponte, a former think tank futurist and expert in high-tech terrorism that used nuclear and other weapons, show how vulnerable America's anemic economy is today to collapse in “The Great Debasement” and in their new book “The GreatWithdrawal.”

“Iran could now produce enough weapon-grade enriched uranium within a month or so to produce a nuclear weapon, according to ISIS physicist David Albright, a former inspector for the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency,” says Ponte.

“If even one small terrorist A-bomb is sneaked across our open Mexican border and detonated in an American city, you can kiss good-bye to America as we've known it,” says Ponte. “We will withdraw into a garrison state with massive restrictions on personal freedom, travel and privacy. Hyperinflation would make the Dollar worthless as government prints tens of trillions of them to keep itself afloat in a collapsed economy. An authoritarian Dark Age and Depression could descend almost overnight.”

“After five years of doing almost nothing to deter Iran's nuclear program, President Barack Obama urgently needs to act now,” says Ponte. “If he does not, then Israel may feel forced to try militarily to preempt Iran's theocratic dictatorship from launching its own Islamist martyr plan for Armageddon before Iran's radioactive serpent eggs spread worldwide.”

“President Obama already brought down a government friendly to the U.S. in Egypt by supporting the radical Muslim Brotherhood,” says Ponte.

“In October Mr. Obama alienated our erstwhile ally Saudi Arabia by refusing to keep his word to oppose the Shiite-aligned dictatorship in Syria, a close ally of Iran. I can guarantee you that the Saudi royal family has accelerated its oil-enriched effort to acquire a large nuclear arsenal to deter Iran a few miles across the Persian Gulf,” says Ponte.

“What this means is that if and when the fragile Saudi regime falls, the atomic weapons we are forcing the Saudis to acquire could also fall into Islamist terrorist hands,” says Ponte.

“President Obama has shown the same skill in foreign policy that he has in creating the web site for Obamacare,” says Ponte. “He has been an unreliable ally who lacks the will to take decisive action, and this has put America, Israel and the world in mortal danger.”

“Because of this, get ready to see mushroom clouds and large radioactive holes where some American cities now stand, and start preparing for what could soon be a Great Depression, the collapse of the U.S. Dollar, and martial law for the rest of our lives,” says Ponte. “A nuclear Iran will mean the end of the America we've known.”

“Whatever happens, you can help protect your family and savings by taking some prudent steps now,” says Smith. “These steps could also make America more secure and less vulnerable to collapse, even in an age of nuclear terrorism. This can help protect you, your neighbors and America – but your time to secure yourself and your family could now be very short. It's a gift Wise Men will be giving their families now, even before Christmas.”

Disturbing Facts about a Senior Homeland Security Adviser

The Clarion Project, the Center for Security Policy and the Institute on Religion and Democracy have published a shocking interview with Mohamed Elibiary, a senior Department of Homeland Security adviser. The Daily Caller reported on it yesterday. Elibiary is a member of the Secretary's Homeland Security Advisory Committee and founder of Lone Star Intelligence LLC.  He served on the DHS Countering Violent Extremism Working Group and the DHS Faith-based Security and Communications Advisory Committee.  On September 12, he announced that he had been reappointed to the Committee and promoted to Senior Fellow. He was also a delegate for Republican presidential nominee John McCain in 2008. [Read the interview here...]

Obama's Renewed Iranian Romance

Three days after being snubbed at the United Nations by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, President Obama made a hurriedly arranged telephone call to Rouhani last Friday as the Iranian president was heading to the airport to return to Tehran.  This followed what Secretary of State John Kerry had described as his own “constructive” meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif the previous day.  Obama couldn’t wait to tell reporters after his call with Rouhani how optimistic he was at the prospect of new talks with Iran over its nuclear program.  Obama’s problem is that there is no real new leadership in Tehran, only a new figurehead. The real leader remains Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei. He isn’t called Iran’s “supreme leader” for nothing. He is the ultimate decision-maker on the future of Iran’s nuclear program and on any rapprochement with the United States. [more...]

The Muslim Brotherhood is now banned in Egypt: the effects on Egypt and what to expect here in America.

2016: Latest polls show Christie has recaptured the leading spot in the GOP contest because Ted Cruz’s rise is taking away some of Rand Paul’s support.

America’s largest Muslim civil liberties group (CAIR) is accused of money-laundering and there’s a mini-scandal with the Justice Department slamming the FBI for its contacts with it because of its links to Hamas. This group, an identified U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, just honored Chris Christie.

President Obama's New Pen Pal

After vacillating for weeks on what to do regarding his red line for the use of chemical weapons in Syria and ultimately retreating, President Obama laid down yet another of his meaningless red lines for Iran. "My suspicion is that the Iranians recognize they shouldn't draw a lesson that we haven't struck [Syria] to think we won't strike Iran," Obama warned in an interview with ABC that aired last Sunday. "I think what the Iranians understand is that the nuclear issue is a far larger issue for us than the chemical weapons issue." There is little doubt that the Iranians have learned precisely the opposite from Obama's back-and-forth flirtation with military action over the last several weeks. Since Secretary of State John Kerry had signaled that any attack against Syria would be "unbelievably small," it is not difficult to imagine Iran's leadership concluding that an attack against Iran, if any, would be small as well. Russia Rising

Following up on its proposal to place Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles under international control for inspection and destruction, Russia submitted its plan to implement this proposal to the United States for review. One day after President Obama's primetime televised speech in which he called for a diplomatic pause before moving forward with any military action against the Assad regime, Secretary of State John Kerry sounded a hopeful note. He liked what he heard from his phone conversation on Wednesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, whom, Kerry said, "had some interesting observations about the ways in which he thinks we might be able to achieve this." This situation is not likely to be resolve so simply, however, and geopolitical complications appear to be mounting, as Russian President Putin senses his advantage and Obama's weakness. [more...]

Assad's Agreement to Int'l WMD Supervision Game Changer

The Syrian regime, at Russia's urging, has agreed to permit international supervision of its weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in order to avoid U.S. military action. Bashar Assad's announcement came after U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry gave an unplanned answer to a reporter's question about how Assad could avoid American strikes. He dismissively said that Assad could entirely dismantle his chemical and biological weapons stockpiles. Shockingly, Russia publicly called on Assad to do just that and the Syrian dictator agreed. [more...]

Is it Moral or Smart to Attack Syria?

The world reacted with justified moral indignation to Syria's use of poison gas on humans.  The Obama administration apparently feels that the USA is therefore morally obligated to attack Syria.  It may at first seem counter-intuitive, but an ancient Jewish principle is that when one group of people is being massacred by another group, an unaligned third nation should NOT dispatch their own soldiers, some of whom will die, in order to save many more of the victims. Accordingly, America should NOT send even a few of its soldiers to their deaths in Syria in order to save many more Syrian lives. Doing so is not morally righteous. Obama Addresses American Islamist Convention

President Obama addressed the 50th annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America via videotape, praising the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity for its partnership with his administration. A Clarion Project report showed that the convention's roster of speakers includes many extremists. "Over the last half-century, you’ve upheld the proud legacy of American-Muslims' contributions to our national fabric and this gathering is a testament to that tradition," Obama says to ISNA. [more...]

Brigitte Gabriel on the Syria Decision

Is America getting ready to unleash the dogs of war based on faulty intelligence?  The UN fact finding mission to Syria is still unconvinced that Assad was the one who used the chemical weapons.

In addition the original intelligence report provided by the Israeli intelligence "Unit 8200 electronic intelligence" group reveals that the August 21st attack was a staged attack by the rebels to force America to get involved in Syria.

Assad had been on a winning streak and it had become clear that America was losing interest in supporting what America perceived as increasingly radicalized rebels. Therefore, by using Sarin gas on their own people, the rebels knew they can force America to come and take out Assad or at least weaken him drastically, thus paving the way for a major game changer in Syria.

ACT for America, the nation's largest national security grassroots organization headed by leading terrorism expert Brigitte Gabriel, has launched a national petition urging the White House: "Don't drag us into another Middle Eastern war and don't arm the Syrian Rebels."

Brigitte Gabriel is available for interviews for an up-to-date analysis on Syria and the ramifications of an American attack in the Middle East.

8-22-13 National Security Updates

It's been a big week in national security/Middle East news. Last week, I was on The Blaze twice and recorded two segments for CBN and over a dozen radio shows.

Million Muslim March: I was the one that originally brought a lot of attention to MD Rabbi Alam, the organizer of the "Million Muslim March." He’s very extreme and I’d be happy to debate him on your program. He seems very willing to do media. My articles on him:

EGYPT: I’m getting lots of photos and videos from Egyptians who are furious at the media’s pro-Muslim Brotherhood coverage. The excessive force is deplorable, but there’s a complete other side to the story. I have constant updates on the situation but here’s one article I wrote with a lot of good information:

2016: I have an article coming out very soon about MD Governor Martin O’Malley, who said he is going to run in 2016. The article focuses on his very troubling stances regarding American Islamists, but also a little analysis of polls. Here’s an interesting observation:

"Other parts of the poll show there is an opportunity to challenge Clinton and, if she doesn’t run, Biden. Clinton is the least favorite candidate of 27% of Democrats and Biden is only three points behind her. About 20% favor a candidate that wasn’t listed and 20% are undecided. There is an opening for O’Malley and other candidates to make a good impression."

IRAN: Startling new video has Iran’s "moderate" president bragging about advancing the nuclear program through deception. There’s some additional smoking gun quotes in my article here:

Also, the “moderate” president has nominated a Justice Minister that Iranian opposition sources tell me was involved in a 1988 massacre of political prisoners. The Defense Minister is a founder of Hezbollah.

Israeli-Palestinian "peace" talks: Obviously, I believe they will fail. Here’s one disturbing story I wrote. Kerry & Rice met with Muslim groups including at least two with extremist pasts in preparation for the peace talks. Unlike the Jewish groups they met with, the White House won’t release the names of the Muslim groups they met with.

Other stories at the Clarion Project: Acid attack on British teenage girls for singing in Yemen; U.N. agency financing Palestinian jihad; Al-Qaeda-linked rebels have captured an air base in Syria; the Second Wave of the Arab Spring: Finally, Some Good News!

The Illusion of Peace Negotiations

Israeli and Palestinian negotiators are in Washington this week to meet face to face under State Department auspices. Although the talks are focusing initially on procedural issues rather than any substantive matters, Secretary of State John Kerry hailed their resumption as a major accomplishment.

In announcing the appointment of Martin Indyk, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, as the U.S. Special Envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations during a press briefing Monday morning, Kerry praised "the courageous leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Abbas" and "their willingness to make difficult decisions." The Brotherhood’s Reach for Jihad

Violence in Egypt continues to boil over on the streets of Cairo and other Egyptian cities, although you wouldn't necessarily know it from the media's obsession with the George Zimmerman verdict and the royal birth in England.

The New York Times described "running battles with firearms, bottles and rocks near Tahrir Square in Cairo and on the edges of two protest sites that have been held by Mr. Morsi's [former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi] Islamist supporters for weeks." At least nine people were killed in Cairo on Tuesday, bringing the total fatalities to 14 this week to date. This is on top of the more than 50 people, mostly Morsi supporters, who lost their lives on July 8th. [more...]

Popular U.S. Imam: Constitution Inferior to Sharia

While you were spending Memorial Day weekend barbequing and honoring the U.S. servicemen who gave their lives for the country, 18,000 people attended an annual Muslim-American conference in Connecticut. An additional 14,000 watched online. And the message they heard from one prominent speaker was particularly offensive in light of the holiday: The U.S. Constitution is inferior to Islamic Sharia Law. [more...]

Iranian Gov't Front Group Funded Over 60 Islamic Sites in U.S.

Time to Label Nigerian Schoolchildren Slaughterers 'Terrorists'

The Clarion Project has started a petition to designate the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram as, well, a terrorist group. The Obama Administration's desire to end the war on terror and not pick any new fights is overriding common-sense and moral clarity. The United Kingdom has just branded Boko Haram as a terrorist group, so it's up to American citizens to sign the petition and tell their government to stop dragging its feet. [more...]

Not Too Fast: Morsi Downfall May Yet Herald Sharia for Egypt

The overthrow of Egyptian President Morsi is the biggest blow to the Muslim Brotherhood since its founding in 1928, but we mustn't allow our joy to make us overlook one disappointing fact: The Defense Minister is widely reported to be an Islamist and the new "constitutional declaration" declares Sunni Sharia to be the "main source of legislation." U.S. Refuses to Designate Nigerian Jihadists as Foreign Terror Group

The Al-Qaeda-affiliated Boko Haram group in Nigeria is, by any definition, a foreign terrorist organization. The Obama Administration is refusing to designate it as such, arguing that it is not a direct threat to the U.S. In other words, it is choosing appeasement over moral clarity.

Boko Haram is roughly translated to mean that Western education is sacrilegious. The Islamist group is openly committed to "war" against the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to create a “pure” Islamic country governed by Sharia law. Members often cite the Koranic verse, "anyone who is not governed by what Allah has revealed is among transgressors." [more...]

FBI's Most-Wanted Ads Blocked by Muslim Brotherhood Group

The U.S. government has long offered rewards for its most wanted terrorists as a way of incentivizing people to be on the lookout. Its success obviously relies upon widespread knowledge of the award and what the terrorists look like. For the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, the fact that Americans would become aware that a majority of the most-wanted terrorists are Islamic extremists compelled it to take action. As usual, CAIR cried "Islamophobia," deployed its interfaith partners and was successful in having the most-wanted terrorist ads taken down. [more...]

Senator McCain's Arab Spring Syndrome

Senator John McCain is suffering from the Arab Spring Syndrome. He remains convinced that democracy will flower in places like Syria and Egypt if given a chance.  He evidently believes that Islamists can be persuaded to fully participate in the electoral process and accept the will of the people. In the words of Bruce S. Thornton, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, "McCain has a naive faith in the magic powers of 'democracy' to change a culture steeped in 14 centuries of religious intolerance, supremacism, and violence." Egypt Unmoored

On July 3, 2013 – the eve of our own Independence Day celebration – millions of Egyptians who had protested in the streets against the Muslim Brotherhood-backed regime of President Mohammed Morsi last weekend got their wish. The military had given Morsi 48 hours to enter into meaningful reconciliation talks with the opposition. Morsi ignored the ultimatum and gave a defiant speech instead. [more...]

Showdown in Egypt

Millions of Egyptians participated in protests all over the country on the first anniversary of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's inauguration this past weekend, including in areas where his Muslim Brotherhood has traditionally had strong support. Morsi's increasingly authoritarian style of government, worsening economic conditions since he assumed office and Islamist power grabs, and rising fears of an Iran-type Egyptian theocracy have fueled the historic protests. In fact, more demonstrators have poured into the streets demanding Morsi's resignation than came out during the final days of the uprising that led to former President Hosni Mubarak's overthrow in 2011. Iranian Front Group Funded 30 Universities in U.S. & Canada

The U.S. Muslim Brotherhood isn't the only Islamist group funding American universities. The Iranian regime has done the same thing on a massive scale through its New York-based front, the Alavi Foundation. The Foundation's Web site openly lists 30 "academic institutions" in the U.S. and Canada it has awarded grants to. The Alavi Foundation is accused of funneling money to an Iranian bank linked to the nuclear program. The president of the Foundation, Farshid Jahedi, pled guilty to destroying evidence before it could be submitted to the grand jury. The Manhattan District Attorney's Office investigations chief, Adam Kaufmann, said "We found evidence that the government of Iran really controlled everything about the foundation." [more...]

Smoking Gun: The IRS's Abuse of Obama's Pro-Israel Enemies

Barack Obama's IRS is targeting certain Jewish advocacy groups which disagree with Obama's anti-Israel positions on the so-called "disputed territories." In a document entitled "Be On the Lookout" (BOLO), which the IRS disclosed publicly on June 24th, the tax enforcement agency instructed its agents reviewing applications for tax-exempt status to be on the lookout for applications from organizations that "deal with disputed territories in the Middle East" and "may be inflammatory."

A pattern has emerged with respect to the IRS's special focus on groups that were outspoken in opposing President Obama's demands that Israel freeze its construction of settlements over the pre-June 1967 boundary line between Israel and the West Bank and West and East Jerusalem, known as the "Green Line." What Do the Iranian People Really Think of Sharia?

A new Pew poll shows that only 15% of Iranians oppose implementing Sharia, but don’t jump to the conclusion that this means most of the population is necessarily Islamist. It is also questionable how many Iranians would freely express themselves to a foreign pollster. [more...]

The Media Makeover of Iran's New President

The media and Western analysts are ecstatic at the surprise victory of Hassan Rouhani, a relatively moderate cleric, in Iran’s presidential election. Obama Takes the 'Moderate' Iranian President's Bait?

The Obama administration is using the election of Iran’s new president-elect, Hassan Rouhani, as an excuse to consider resuming negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program. Iran is cleverly running the clock, using the election of the moderate-appearing Rouhani as bait to lure the Obama administration and its European allies into another round of useless talks while Iran forges ahead to develop a nuclear arms arsenal.

Rouhani, a cleric, had served as the Supreme National Security Council chairman under Presidents Ali-Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (1989-1997) and Mohammad Khatami (1997-2005), and was Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator from 2003 to 2005.  He is perceived as a "moderate" compared with the other candidates who ran for president against him. However, everything is relative. Hundreds of reformist and pragmatic candidates, and all women, were barred from running. Rouhani was the last so-called "reform" candidate standing. [more...]

Mideast Red Star Rising

According to reports, last weekend’s California summit between President Obama and his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, focused on subjects such as North Korea, cyber security and areas of potential cooperation between the two world powers. President Obama said that "we're more likely to achieve our objectives of prosperity and security of our people if we are working together cooperatively, rather than engaged in conflict." However, as President Obama tries to pivot away from his disastrous Middle East-North African policies to focus more on Asia, and China in particular, he finds himself faced with China’s increasing presence in the chaotic region he is leaving behind. Conflicts developing between China and the United States over Middle East interests on diplomatic, economic and even military levels are inevitable, made more imminent by Obama's reckless policies and shift in priorities.
